ICICTE delegates are warmly invited to consider the Journal of ExoTechnology and Education - jeXed - as a publication home for research emerging from the conference. Hosted by the University of Johannesburg and UJ Press, jeXed is an open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed, multi-, inter-, and trans-disciplinary academic journal focused on cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence and large language models, serious gaming, and innovative practice in higher education. The journal aims to foster rigorous interdisciplinary scholarship on emerging technologies and transformative educational practices.
The journal is especially well aligned with ICICTE’s long-standing commit-ment to research, innovation, and practice in information and communica-tion technologies in education. jeXed welcomes high-quality academic articles, methodology papers, reviews, emerging researcher contributions, and creative scholarly outputs that explore technology-enhanced teaching, game-based learning, alternative teaching, and alternative assessment.
A distinctive feature of jeXed is its openness to innovative forms of academic communication. In addition to traditional articles, authors may include or develop scholarly work through formats such as podcasts, videos, apps, animations, datasets, robotics, coding, presentations, and “practice in motion”, where these meet the journal’s academic requirements.
Through the new ICICTE–jeXed partnership, full conference papers that successfully complete ICICTE’s double-blind peer-review process, are revised in response to reviewer feedback, and are formally approved by the conference may additionally be invited for consideration in jeXed following an extended editorial review process.
